Sorry for some of the strange changes around here but there is a bug loose on the premises and I’m not the one who is able to find it.

Some of my posts are vanishing (except for the titles).  I have found two.  Maybe there are more.  I shudder to think how many more there COULD be.  If you find one I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment here and let me know.

If I click on edit and look in the ADmin Panel the post is still there in its entirety.  Here’s the strange rub.  I copied the contents of one of the missing posts and pasted it into a new post for today.  And it showed up alright.  Title and everything.  But then when I tried to change the date back to the 12th where it was supposed to be it vanished (except for the title).

So then I copied it again and tried to paste it back into a post for today.  It worked the first time right?!   And all I got was the title.

Weird.   A Halloween bug.

Update//  Apparently the little guy got into one of my subdomains.  Because the latest post was not showing up on the front of the blog.  But it was there if you clicked on it in the archives or recent posts.  So then I decided to add another new post on top of it and it showed up.   Now everything seems back to normal.  And I have upgraded all the subdomains to the latest WP version.

But it makes me “antsy” every time I click on something wondering if something will be wrong.   I get antsy when there is a bug around.  Haha.   I tried switching themes back to the WP original and that didn’t help.  So we shall see.  If anyone has any suggestions please leave a comment.

I don’t mean to put this at WP’s doorstep.  But it has happened since the latest upgrade which I installed here.  And uploading an earlier db didn’t help.  But I should have upgraded  the subdomains all at the same time as well.  Maybe that was the problem.

Your blogging friend has been asked to do the photos for a Visitor’s Guide published by the Chamber of Commerce in this area.

How about that?  And it’s a perfect time of year to take some photos of the outdoors with the leaves just starting to seriously turn different colors.

This publication will go out to thousands of people in the area and it will include a bio of the photographer. So I will be taking a lot of photos in the next few weeks. And there should be some photos of Heaven being published soon because that’s where I will be.

This has also got me thinking about publishing a book of poems and photos using Amazon.com. I’m a little late for this Christmas but we will see.

First things first and the Visitors Guide.

Also a new edition of Wordpress has come out today.  It offers a couple of security fixes so it’s probably a good idea to “get er done”.   And prior to that . . . Today would be a good day to BACK UP the blog.  In fact I am going to do it right now and suggest you might want to do it too.

When we were up in Washington I was impressed by the bridges we passed through on our way to the zoo. Some of them are quite grand. This one had a shiny orange/red interior.

I don’t know if this photo is any good or not. But I like it. So here it is.

Also. . .I wrote in a recent post HERE about a different strategy to increase readership involving increasing Page Rank by internal post linking.

Example:   Bernie has written some very encouraging things today here at VB.  You can see in the comments here that he feels this photo is alright.  I appreciate that very much because I really didn’t have a clue.  I just “thought” it looked interesting.

I’m going to add some NextGen stuff about bridges we saw as we drove along this route.  One of them I think is really cool.  Can you tell which one?

I went over to Bernie’s to see what he was doing and he also is fooling around with bridges!  What a coincidence!   So here is the Link to Bernie’s Bridge.  . .

If we are going to be successful bloggers  (and I believe we are going to succeed) we need to try new things and find new ways to grow.

I guarantee you that this post will be gathering readers who will shoot over to Bernies Bridge long after a StumbleUpon link has fizzled out. I feel like we were seduced by SU in the early stages of our blogging experiences.   “It’s all about Plastic” as Mr. Robinson used to say.  (But Mrs Robinson had a different story).   Don’t get me wrong.  I like SU a lot.  But I understand now why it’s not really there to promote individual blogs.  It promotes cool posts.  Growing a blog requires a helping hand from Google.

Because links like these help to increase PR and Google is a LOT bigger than StumbleUpon.  See?

It’s 9:30 on a Saturday morning and here’s what has been going on so far at Virginia Breeze.   I laugh every time I look at the stats that Wordpress provides.  Just over a year ago I started blogging.  I put together something at blogspot and then sat back expecting to have some visitors.

And nothing happened.  Eventually Beth assumed an identity and left a comment because she felt sorry for me.  And then at some point things started to happen, of course, as they always do if you persist in your efforts at something and someone you love encourages you along the way.

Blogging is fun.  And if you share the fun you are having I really don’t think it matters too much about the subject matter.   It should be clean.  It should be at least mildly interesting.  And it should reflect who you are.

I am a senior citizen who is enjoying life so much more than I ever did.  And I would like to share that with anyone who comes along.  I almost feel like it is a duty.   It’s a way of saying “Thank You” to God.

It’s a conversation between me and that first little imposter who commented here.  The lovely Ms. Beth.  The source of so much that is good in this life.  Here is what she left me this morning. And below that is a list of posts being read this am.  Because she makes me feel like sharing something with the world.

The One Flaw In Women
By the time the Lord made woman,
He was into his sixth day of working overtime.
An angel appeared and said,
‘Why are you spending so much time on this one?’
And the Lord answered, ‘Have you seen my spec sheet on her?
She has to be completely washable, but not plastic,
have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable
and able to run on diet coke and leftovers,
have a lap that can hold four children at one time,
have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart
-and she will do everything
with only two hands.’

The angel was astounded at the requirements.
‘Only two hands!? No way!
And that’s just on the standard model?
That’s too much work for one day.
Wait until tomorrow to finish.’

‘But I won’t, ‘ the Lord prote sted.
‘I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart.
She already heals herself when she is sick
AND can work 18 hour days.’

The angel moved closer and touched the woman.
‘But you have made her so soft, Lord.’

‘She is soft,’ the Lord agreed,
‘but I have also made her tough.
You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish.’

‘Will she be able to think?’, asked the angel.

The Lord replied,
‘Not only will she be able to think,
she will be able to reason and negotiate.’

The angel then noticed something,
and reaching out, touched the woman’s cheek.
‘Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.
I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one.’

‘That’s not a leak,’
the Lord corrected,
‘that’s a tear!’
‘What’s the tear for?’ the angel asked.

The Lord said, ‘The tear is her way of expressing her joy,
her sorrow, her pain, her d isappoint ment, her love,
her loneliness, her grief and her pride.’
The angel was impressed.
‘You are a genius, Lord.
You thought of everything!
Woman is truly amazing.’

And she is!
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness,
love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don’t take ‘no’ for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member ,
yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They’ll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE TINY FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.
PLEASE pass this along to your women friends and relatives
to remind them just how amazing they are.
