Is it time to head for the beach? I think so.
Click on the music and then the photo thumbnail for a slide show presentation. Feel free to fiddle with the number of seconds each photo is shown. I would set it to coincide with the music but don’t think the process allows one to do this. Or it requires skills beyond my reach at the moment. Suggested slide duration: 8 seconds.

I guess this post pretty much sums up this blog at the moment. We have just reached the two year mark this week and I can’t think of a better way to recognize the moment than to do something like this. I have enjoyed the journey very much and feel that this type of post is a culmination of the things I have learned about blogging and photography to date.
I’m still riding the wave in any case. Where will it lead next? Well it would be nice to figure out how to merge music and photos in a video without losing some of the photo quality. And it might be interesting to merge photos and poetry in some way.
It would also be nice to solve some of the technical problems this blog has been having for the past two years. But let’s not be too optimistic. These photos were taken last year but never edited. Some may seem familiar but they are different perspectives on familiar subjects. Hopefully I will be heading to the beach soon to take some more!
Once they solve the technical issues surrounding our building! In other words. . . finish putting the new skin on the building (see post last April about our adventure way up high with plastic over the windows). Unfortunately the same issues that are affecting the economy and housing everywhere are present here.
Directions For Virginia Breeze
What is blogging? Is it a passing phase in the continually changing consciousness of the nation and the world?
OMG did I say that?
Yes. And it is a question worth asking. I have been a blogger for almost two years now. It has been an enjoyable experience. And one that suits the kind of mind that is. . .
Not too analytical
Not too smart
Not too goal oriented
But one that enjoys people and enjoys creating moments.
Not necessarily big moments. But moments that can be enjoyed and appreciated in a photo or a poem or a description of something.
Blogging can drive you batty. And I have seen some very talented people fall along the way because they couldn’t quite figure out what they were doing.
People arrive and read your post. Then they leave without any kind of response. You have no idea how they felt about what you were trying to say. Maybe they will return.
Maybe they won’t. Maybe the plugins will work tomorrow. Or some mysterious bug will mess them up. Or the company who runs the servers will decide to shut you down for some obscure reason.
How do you get a handle on that? Well I don’t think that you do get a handle on it. You just wait to see what happens next. It’s a lot like life.
And I am here to document that with you. I enjoy waiting for the next surprise.
A little moment. And perhaps next time…
A big moment. You never know.

Kathryn must have read my blog about Santa being an alien because she seems a little upset here. Or maybe she’s just thinking about the Dow Jones average. I don’t know. But Charlie seems to be taking it all in stride.
Sarah sent me this photo today and it is such a wonderful reminder that Christmas activities are happening. Somewhere.
I am much better today and looking forward to taking some photos of Christmas lights downtown this weekend. The dark storms have passed and there is bright light outside again as well as lots of fluffy clouds.
What a difference a day can make.

Cold Weather On the Beach/ Virginia Beach Surfing/ Birds In Flight
Here’s something that I just discovered again. A few of these photos have already been blogged here at Virginia Breeze. But many of them I haven’t seen for a long time. They were tossed in a Picasa Web Album last March after I took them. Then I lost many of the originals and now I am downloading these and putting them in the Picture Push program where they can be shown to their best advantage. Some are a little grainy.
But this is what it’s like at the beach sometimes. I kind of like it.
