I caught you in a time of joy

As you once found a wave

And rode it for it’s very worth

Upon this warm, clear day.

My camera is my surfboard now

It seeks out waves of joy

Like those that have surrounded you

On this day in July.

Still know your time is near an end

The beach will soon be dark.

But I will always have this scene

Imprinted on my heart.

A moment when the sun did shine

A twilight vast and free

A dream I once did ride the waves

A silly old diary.

Everybody knows how hot it has been the last few days. It’s just as hot here at the beach and there is not much breeze. So I was very surprised to see someone doing this. This person was going up and down the beach paddling while standing up on a surfboard. It is always nice to see something you have never seen before and this would qualify in my case. But my thought was “How hot must it be out there?” and “I would rather be sitting and have my feet in the water”. Maybe this is a sport I have never seen or an excercise regimen like pilates. Please let me know if that is the case. It is very hot here at the beach.
