My camera returned yesterday and I have been having a great time going through a bunch of photos . Picasa3 is out in beta and this has added to the fun. I had not realized until this weekend how beautiful lizards can be. I’m not kidding. They really have some amazing features.  This Asian Water Dragon is particularly lovely.

Here are some of the other photos on my Picasa Web Page.   I really like the changes they have made in this beta model.

A Story With Pictures/ Picasa And Storing Photos/ The Organization Man

A few weeks ago in my ongoing quest to become more organized I went into Picasa and put my photos in order.  I set up folders according to events.  Many of the photos were already in the right folder.  But I must have spend a day making sure wandering photos were returned to their proper place.

Yahoo.  I’m a photo rustlin cowboy!

Anyway yesterday  or the day before it all runs together in my mind  I reformatted my hard drive.  And since I had saved all the photos on dvds using the Picasa backup program there didn’t seem to be a problem.

But to my horror when I reloaded the photos off the dvds they all came back in one huge pile without any folders.  So now I have about twenty thousand photos just sitting there in a big pile.

Maybe I didn’t do it right.  Who knows?

After I reformatted the hard drive I noticed that my speakers were not working.  Well we have to have music, right?  So I went into Device Manager and there were a bunch of yellow arrows in one area including some that had to do with audio.

If I had deleted those files and started up the computer again Windows would have found the correct driver and installed it.  Eventually I did this so I know it works.

But that  sixty second exercise only happened after I spent a day going in other directions.

It’s seven am and after finishing this cup of coffee I need to take Zach’s car to the dealership for routine maintenance.

Later I plan to go out to the workshop to continue work on some shelves.

Do I sense a pattern here? I have this dream that someday I will sit down in this chair and everything will be done for a few days or weeks.  Everything will be organized.  And then we can zip forward into the future like a star ship that has just been refueled.

Bu that day is never going to come is it?  It’s all just a pleasant fantasy.     There are six billion people on this planet struggling to survive on limited resources.   It’s all just a big mess and I’m part of it.

Why do I even try to climb on top of it and look around?

It’s time for a new relaxation exercise.  Put on some music and begin deep breathing.  Then go to Picasa and look at that big pile of photos.  Look at them and smile.
