Naked In Eden Blog/ Robin Easton

My good friend Robin at Naked In Eden : Ancient Memories in the Australian Rainforest wrote this about Virginia Breeze and its disorganized captain:

VIRGINIA BREEZE: http://davidnotes.com David’s blog has some of the most beautiful and cherished poetry I’ve read in a long time. It has moved me to tears on more than one occasion. If you enjoy heartfelt honest sentiments that speak of the core issues of our lives then grab a cup of tea, slow down and read some of David’s poems. They are written by someone who feels deeply and has an open heart. You will go away feeling like you know him. They are easy to understand and are mated with beautiful photos. My post this month was inspired by David’s poetry. His writing sets me free and encourages me to be authentic. He also writes about a variety of topics I find interesting, warm, real (and sometimes funny).

You can’t ask for anything better than this in the way of endorsements or morale building moments can you?

Robin is a treasure. Every once in a long while you meet somebody who you feel close to immediately and Robin is one of those people. There is a long list of readers who have fallen under her spell and I am one of them. Her writing is irresistible and she is funny, entertaining and brave.

That last quality I find very admirable. This fine lady lived in a rain forest and wrote a book about her life. Doing those kind of things requires courage.

If we are all unique then Robin is not afraid to share that uniqueness with the world. Why write a personal blog if you are not going to share something that your reader will not be able to read anywhere else? That’s my opinion about blogging and I find that Robin is the perfect example of somebody who does this extremely well.

I hope and pray she will always have time to stop by here for a few moments because I have grown very attached to her in a very short time. She motivates me to continue trying to become a better writer.

I hope you will take time to get to know her too. You won’t be sorry. I promise.

Have you met someone while blogging you made you feel this way?

Sharon Stone Upsets The Chinese

Susan Sharon Stone has a problem. She said something about the recent earthquake being the result of bad karma. Because the Chinese have done so much damage to Tibet. And now about a billion people are mad at her. But maybe Tibet is doing some damage to China.

Using an extraordinary weapon that can cause massive earthquakes and is invisible.

That’s pretty cool I say. I would worry about it being used against us someday unless we can figure out how to ID it so we can send a cruise missile to MEET IT.

Karma is an interesting concept and I try not to mess around with it. I worry about stepping on bugs if I see them before I step on them. If I just hear the crunch I am not too worried. It’s the intention part that can mess you up.

Sharon says this:

“I’m not happy about the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans because I don’t think anyone should be unkind to anyone else,” Stone said in Cannes, according to footage widely available on YouTube.

If she is talking about the government then I have to agree with her. But I don’t think they were tossed about by the earthquake. Unfortunately.

The Karma weapon perhaps needs some fine tuning. It’s range finder is off by a few thousand miles.

And then she says:

“I’ve been concerned about how should we deal with the Olympics, because they are not being nice to the Dalai Lama, who is a good friend of mine,” she said.

Don’t you wish you could say that? I do.

Be nice to the Dalai Lama who is a good friend of mine. Because I don’t like my friends having their countries taken over by communist governments. And if they do I might get upset.

And I might not be nice to you even though I believe we should all be nice to each other.

I wish I could call up Mr. Lama and have a nice chat with him. I have seen him on television and he seems to be very good natured. Maybe he talks with God. Maybe he is God. I don’t know. But it would be nice to talk with him and get a feeling for who he might be.

Do you think he controls the Karma weapon? Because somebody has to pull the trigger.

If he does maybe he should practice a bit more. Or go to an eye doctor for a checkup. Maybe he could put a bullseye up on his wall and type BEIJING in the center.

Isn’t that where they are having the Olympics? Is Sharon Stone going to be there when it opens?

Lord this could get complicated.

“Sharon Stone was bounced up in the air and came down on her head the other day when a 4.5 earthquake hit the Olympic Village just prior to the Opening Ceremonies.”

Practice, practice. Someday it will be a useful weapon. Maybe. But it still has a long way to go.

Well we have all made it to midweek and around noontime it will be time to head back towards the barn again. Sure it may take a few days to get there. But the important thing is that we all have a barn and a horse to get us there.

Henry our Tudor friend has many barns and many horses. I hope you have been watching him on Showtime. On the last episode he dispatched Thomas More and Cardinal Fletcher to their Heavenly rewards. More was possibly his best friend and a father figure too. We can see the king screaming with pain and regret when the axe falls.

Thomas More refused to take an oath saying the King was the head of the church in England or anywhere for that matter. I was caught up in the scene where his wife pleads with him. She comes to his dungeon cell and says “Thomas, please! Just say the words. We have all done it and we will forfeit all our possessions if you remain stubborn.”

Clearly she will miss him but right at this moment she has other concerns. And he says “Yes you and the children have been my greatest concern. But I can’t endure an eternity in Hell even if it means you all become paupers” or words to this effect.

Makes sense to me. Besides shouldn’t God be the one who takes care of them? Especially since Thomas More has gone the extra mile for Him. Have faith woman and go get a job! You too kids! Let’s worry about dad because at his trial he nearly faints when they tell him what they are going to do to him.

He has this thing about Pain! And I am right there with him at this moment. He will do anything to avoid FOREVER burning in the devil’s workshop. But on the other hand the guys are going to hang him until he is half dead, cut out his bowels and burn them while he watches with interest, tear him into four pieces with wild horses and then cut off his head! Talk about being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea!

How do people even think up this stuff? But then his good friend Henry shows his soft and caring side by commuting his sentence to simple removal of the parts that have been causing him so much trouble.

Much much better! Thomas goes off after a nice speech to the crowd and Henry gets to suffer for many more years with gout and whatever else. He probably gets sexually transmitted diseases. Because he can’t control himself. He is riding through the woods with his guards when this guy and his wife come along. Immediately they are stopped and questioned. Henry goes up to the wife and sees she is young and beautiful. So he gives her a big kiss and carries her away while her husband stands there steaming.

What’s he going to do? He probably heard about what they were going to do to More! I always try to put myself in some of these unique circumstances. What would I do?

Beth! Please write when you get a chance.

I love you!

And so it goes. Human history is full of sad episodes like this. It’s a shame really. Thomas More had it about right. And so he gets to ride out the remainder of the series in his Heavenly abode in comfort and peace.

Hopefully he will somehow help his wife and kids as they struggle along the road. But they could have refused to take the oath too! I wonder what he would have said if they all came to his cell one day and said they were going with him?

Great! But I hope for your sake Henry likes you as much as he likes me?!

Mental Map For Self Improvement

redlights-1 Mental Map For Self Improvement

“”Retailers call this super Saturday. It is easily one of the busiest shopping days of the year. The National Retail Federation estimates that more than 35 million Americans - mostly men - have not started their holiday shopping yet. “Sometimes this is how it happens - last minute,” said shopper John Babbitt.”"

Procrastination is one of those words that comes to mind at a time like this. But Mr. Babbitt is right when he says “Sometimes this is how it happens”. Because we are talking about a way of life here for many of us. Christmas is when the media spotlight shines on this particular way of dealing with the world. But it goes on all year long.

I have a bunch of stuff I was going to send back to LL Bean last summer. And it’s still sitting there waiting for me to do the paperwork. I have a woodworking project out back that should have been done in October. And my exercise program now hopefully will get off the ground in January.

Sometimes I wonder what life would be like if I did not rest until the “to do” list was finished. So many more things would get done! I know it’s possible but what a challenge! It would mean forcing myself to do something on a regular basis that I did not want to do. It would be like being at work in other words. Only you don’t get paid if you do it and you don’t get fired if you ignore the task.

Everything pretty much goes on as before. Except that I am not happy with the results. I would be a happier person if I did all the stuff I have written down in my book. Maybe this is what Tony Robbins writes about in his books. I have been wanting to read one of them for a long time.

Well that’s not going to happen. But my good friend YouTube has a 20 minute video by Mr. Robbins. And I thought it would be good to listen to it and share it here. I don’t understand why he has to indulge in bad language so be forewarned.

The other side of Christmas in the New Year as we all know! And it will be time to put it in the next gear!

There is always hope that it can happen.
Change. Growth. Happiness.
