Lines
I like the lines in this photo. Not the fishing lines but the other ones. The ones in the shape of an S. Good-bye late summer! We are down in the 30’s at night now like we are supposed to be.

This morning I awoke with a desire to journey down to the James River and arrived there just before the sun cleared the trees.
There was not a cloud in the sky however. So instead of taking photos of light reflecting off the clouds I decided to take photos of light reflecting off the rocks. Rocks are very much like clouds in terms of their shapes and distribution all over the river. Here’s an example.

So I had a nice walk up and down the river along the side of the road. There were some young guys out there fishing and by the sounds they were making they must have been catching fish. There was a little squirrel who I managed to catch.

It was a comfortable morning to be down there and it has become one of my favorite places in the world. I used to think that I would run out of things to photograph . But now I don’t think this will be the case for a long time. There is too much to capture. And things change from day to day.
I’ve never come away from there thinking it was a waste of time getting out of bed.
And hopefully I never will.
