We are moving down the road. Richmond was in the rear view mirror a few days ago as we said hello to Raleigh NC and spent the night with B’s best friend Jo. Dinner at a local eatery was so good with six of our dearest friends including a two week old newcomer to the scene..
And now we are in Atlanta staying at B’s son’s house and in a few days will be heading to Savannah to explore.
It’s overcast this Saturday morning and the local news guys are talking about a food festival that will be happening downtown today. A doctor is reminding us about the flu pandemic of 1918 where fifty million people died and I am reminded of other medical people who have said that the regular flu is just as bad or worse than the “swine” flu in many cases. Hype.
For the past few weeks I have left blogging alone while exploring Middle Earth and visits have actually gone up! That’s pretty funny. But I just don’t really care about numbers anymore. My mind wanders in search of things that will be more helpful in some way or at least entertaining.
I will take some photos in the next week and post them here in case anyone is interested. Most appreciated are the few wonderful readers who comment in meaningful ways. Unfortunately most comments seem to arrive from folks who are looking for free advertising and manage to pause just long enough to spray canned comments “nice blog keep up the good work” etc…
That has really taken a bite out of my blogging motivation along with the failing light in the late afternoon and a touch of depression.

My recent visit to Washington DC included some time wandering around the Air and Space Museum. It’s pretty challenging taking photos in this place. There are lines all over and they bend and conflict with each other. There is a huge amount of metal hanging from the sky and its virtually impossible to isolate one object.
But it was an interesting challenge in any case. And I have some music with an awesomely frenetic beat that I have been saving for just such a chaotic occasion. You can click on the music and then the photo thumbnail if you wish for the complete slide show. Please do not hesitate to change the value for the number of seconds each photo is shown.

During our recent trip to DC we planned to spend an afternoon at the zoo. But it was also a Spring Break week and when we drove by there the entrances were closed.
So then we decided to drive to my daughter’s home in Leesburg. But as luck would have it we happened to drive right by this beautiful church.
Magnificent church. Awe inspiring building. It’s pretty much one of the most amazing buildings in the United States if not the world. So when we drove by what did we decide to do?
You guessed it.
