The Day After Christmas/

I hope everyone had a wonderfully relaxed and enjoyable Christmas Day. Thank you for the Christmas greetings sent this way. Juggling Christmas activities with an attempt to rest and shake this bronchitis hasn’t left a lot of time for blogging. And I have fallen behind on my comment responses but really appreciate each message.

Except for the comment by Anonymous who was upset that the post Where Is Santa Right Now? put him no closer to the Big Guy’s exact location. Let me just say that if I knew where he was I would never share that info with someone who is nasty AND doesn’t leave an actual name and address.   There is a certain amount of irony here isn’t there?   Where are you Mr Anonymous?  LOL.

Here are some photos of our Christmas decorations. It’s fun trying to take photos of Christmas tree ornaments and crop them so they don’t appear to be a mass of colorful confusion. I suppose I could rearrange the ornaments but Beth put them up a certain way and who am I to mess with that?

So have a wonderful weekend. And if you have some Christmas ornament photos you would like to share send them to me and I will put them up here.

Hi Dear David, I hope your lungs are doing better. I had bronchitis last winter and it is NO fun. Took a long time to shake it. In fact it was rampant here in the city, I think we hit a record high on lung stuff. We both are trying to shake a head cold that seems to come and go. So I’ve been running behind due to that and work. We did however go for a walk yesterday in the snow (in the woods). I built a snowman and we took a picnic of hot soup and treats with us. It was a VERY relaxing day; it was good to sidestep all the chaos and just take time out.

I too am behind in responding to comments and commenting on other blogs, again due to this head cold and work. But I wanted to stop in and see how you were feeling.

Your photos are simply charming and speak to me of the timeless unchanging parts of Christmas. It’s like all your ornaments could have been mine, and the stockings and the cards, etc. It made me feel happy looking at them, they brought up found memories from long ago. You guys did a lovely job of decorating!!! It looks like a real old-time Christmas, like when I was a kid. We didn’t decorate this year but we did take a few days to visit some more ruins. I hope to do a video on them at some point, as I filmed quite a bit. They were beautiful David. I never tire seeing them. Eveytime is breathtaking…being in the presence of something that was made by people long before I existed. Knowing they lived their lives there and walked where I was walking touches me in profound ways.

I also just LOVED your comment on my last video. Being of a similar age I related to everything you described. We did all those things as kids. They are some of my fondest memories. In many ways our lives were very similar. All those outdoor activities in the snow were just soooooo magical for me. They are never forgotten.

Take really good care of yourself and rest when you need to. As you once very kindly told me…”We will all still be here when you get back.” I find it quite amazing that you have done all you have on your blog while you had bronchitis…it’s way more than I did when I had bronchitis. :) :) And you’ve taken photos on top of it!!! David, again, your photos are just delightful. Thank you for sharing this part of yourself, how you see the world. These Christmas ones are so precious.

Look after yourself and have a good holiday my friend,
    Robin

  3. I can never take decent shots of the decorations on our tree – they end up looking boring or out of focus! Always glad to see a Mickey Mouse on someone’s tree though :)

Thank you Robin. It means the world to me that you take the time to write and share your enthusiasm and love for life with me. I really need it now. Please say a prayer for me so that I can get back to health and start doing things again. Thanks.
