Winter 2008

I need to get out and take some photos.  Yesterday was the first day in over two weeks that I felt really good.  So  I will be going out and looking for targets of opportunity soon.

Here is a photo from an ice storm we had awhile ago.   It’s pretty bad when you have to resort to this, isn’t it?  But it’s a new photo anyway that I have never put up and it’s kind of nice.  It has a certain symmetry

Or not.

This past weekend was a real eye opener as far as the economy is concerned.  We went to a Christmas party that is packed every year and there were quite a few empty tables this year.  Then we went to see The Nutcracker and there were very many empty seats at the Saturday evening performance.

It’s not looking good sports fans.  Have you noticed anything like this in your neighborhood?

But it said on the news that people are still buying Christmas trees.  So that’s good.  Maybe they are just staying home and enjoying them more.

I hope so.

    Hello David!

Glad you are feeling better and have that passion again for getting out and taking pictures. That always makes one feel better – especially to be out in nature!

No problem by putting an older photo – as you said you have not posted it before soooo technically it is new :)

We are hoping to go down south for a week during the holidays – cannot wait and this time we will have the Nikon with us so we should get some good quality tropical photos and of course some sun and warmth :)

This is such a stunning photo…it would make a beautiful Christmas card. I too am glad that you getting back your desire to take some photos. You are sooooooo good at it. I am forever amazed at what appears here and on YouTube. I couldn’t believe some of the photos you took on YouTube.

I am really looking forward to a break David. I feel like I am counting the days. I need a long rest, even I curl up in a motel and sleep the whole time. I don’t care. Although I am taking my camera and my video camera as well. It the whether holds we are going to the Aztec Ruins here in New Mexico. We have had snow all day long yesterday and everything was beautiful. But I was just too tired after shoveling the roof to get my camera out…that on top of a full day of work.

Make sure you take good care of yourself. I will also listen to my own advice!! :) :)
Thinking of you and wishing you feel much better really soon.
    Hugs, hugs, :)

Hello Evita! Did you decide to go to Harbor Island? Please tell where you are going. I’m looking forward to hearing about it and seeing the photos!

  5. Lovely pictures there, i hope we get some snow this winter

    Hi David!

No we decided not to go to Harbour Island as when I looked into the flights, they were way too complicated for such a short amount of time from us here in Ontario. We would have spent more time on planes than actually enjoying the 7 days of relaxing and fun.

We would still like to consider it seriously in the future, but I can only see it working if we have at least 2 – 4 weeks off to go down there.

So we decided to go to Cuba. (It will be my 5th time there (my husband’s 2nd). Their sand, culture and beaches are absolutely stunning and having travelled to other places in the Caribbean too, Cuba is still one of my faves!

I know that you guys can’t go there, but perhaps that may change under the new presidency.

I will definitely have some pics when I get back as we are taking the Nikon! It will be its first trip :)
