Virginia Beach/ Great Weekend

I am gonna have to stop posting photos when I am at the beach with my laptop.  There’s just too much bright sunlight and I can’t really see enough on the laptop screen.  They look great there and then when I get home they look a lot less than great.  I’ll be fixing these soon and I have deleted some for the time being.

And a great weekend indeed it looks like it was - the shots don’t lie. They are great!

Thanks Ladies. Appreciate it. Some of them are good I guess. But I need to work on a few of them now that i see them at home and on the “big” screen.

I really like the sail shots and If I can make a suggestion…. If you shot later in the afternoon with the sun lower on the horizon (if the boats haven’t gone home by then) and maybe with the sun directly behind the sails, I think the shots would be killer. I would leave the laptop at home no matter what.
Sand is a killer to both cameras and laptops and as you’ve noted it’s too hard to see the screen. (been there done that) :-)
You could try getting in close with a wide angle lens and shoot up through the sails so you get the sun behind the sails and it may distort the image if you had a real wide angle…
Try renting a fisheye lens for your camera to magnify the distortion… I think that would be real cool… dude…! :-)

Thanks very much Jeff. I appreciate it. As a matter of fact my D70 had a problem yesterday. I was taking multiple photos per second (on the beach) when somehow I tried to take another photo that was not in synch with what was going on and the camera didn’t make that hearty clicking sound we enjoy. It made a noise that causes the heart to sink and now it will “click no more”. I get an error message.

Time to go to the shop. It was due for a checkup. Hopefully it can be repaired.

We all get that from time to time… Mine is also due to go in as my busy season is almost at an end and I can take time to to send it in…

Your “crowd control” photo is an stunning action photo. Very good contrast of the colorful sail and the B&W look of the scene. Well done.

Thank you Loic. This did turn over just a few seconds after I took this photo! It’s in quite a hole as you can see. And it never did get out of it right side up!
