New Plugin/ Keyword Love/ Encourage Comments

I am always looking for ways to improve the comment ratio around here.   My two paid readers will attest to that fact.  So when I found this plugin it didn’t take long for it to come live here at Virginia Breeze.  Here is the notion behind this little jewel.

Description

Reward your commentators by separating their name from their keywords in the link to their website, giving them improved anchor text.

Example

If they enter “Stephen@Custom WordPress Plugins” in the Name field, their comment will have:

Stephen from Custom Wordpress Plugins Says:

rather than:

Stephen@Custom WordPress Plugins Says:

If they don’t enter the @ symbol, the anchor text will simply display as normal. For a live example, see the first comment below.

Why Is Anchor Text Important?

There are many articles about the value of having your keywords in the anchor text of backlinks to your site. This helps your site rank well for those keywords with the search engines, bringing you more traffic. -Stephen

There is more and it’s pretty interesting seo stuff so you can find it here. . .

You don’t think I could get on this guy’s blogroll do you?  He might need a little “change of pace” just to liven things up.  Or maybe he already has a crazy section?  WHO knows?

Oh wait.  I should mention the blog where I found keywordluv.  It’s an interesting destination for seo fans and those who should be seo fans.

Thanks guy.  I appreciate it.  Now hopefully you (the legit commenter?) will take advantage of this deal.

Maybe I’m the first post, but I didn’t see an example. I have posted though on a couple of other blogs with the plugin though and I must say it is really cool. What a great way to give those who comment a link with the keyword phrase they want, all the while they don’t have to fell they are spamming the blog by putting the phrase in instead of their name. One of the other blogs I’ve seen using this plugin had the links nofollowed, which to me kind of defeated the purpose to some degree. Although many will still comment, they may lose a few people.

    Hey Dear David,

I am going to have to check this out and see if I can understand it. It’s like Chinese to me. But I am determined to keep learning. So thanks for putting this stuff up there for us all.

Also, I left you a comment in regard to your last comment on my post, “At Certain Times of Our Lives” http://nakedineden.com/nakedinedenblog/?p=304 My comment is attached to yours….so look for your comment and see mine beneath your words.

I was VERY moved by that comment. It blew me away by it’s profundity and beauty. You must follow through on my suggestions to put all or parts of that comment on your poetry page or even here. Anywhere or both places. It is astounding writing and feeling. Just beautiful. Good for you!

Thank for your “How are you doing?” I am still running way behind but rib is healing and slowly catching up. Long work days still, but I am going to try and go for a hike early tomorrow before I dive in to work….just to breathe in the peace of the woods. Hugs, R

    Hi David,
I, like Robin (above comment), will have to check this out. I am always interested in anything that can expand my reader base. It’s so rewarding when you know people have been reading your blog and even take the time to leave comments.

Although I have been blogging for quite some time now, I still am well below the curve when it comes to the tech aspects of blogging. It is a learning experience, and I certainly have alot to learn!

    Thanks for the pointer.

I recently just installed it on 3 of my blogs too and so far have been really happy with it - no additional spam (one of my biggest concerns) and comments come from new and unique visitors while my regular readers can use it to their advantage too. (though some of them haven’t, not quite understanding what it means). I like how people can have real names now instead of being “Tampa Bay Real Esate” or “Fashion Accessories” lol.

Anyways, feel free to drop by and get a little keyword luv at my blog too anytime!

It seems to be working here too. I have had a few spam type visits but after a year of doing this it is pretty easy to tell what’s canned meat or baloney and what’s roast chicken.

    HHmmmm. Roast chicken.

So I recommend it and don’t really understand why some readers seem to pass it by either.
