The Healing Power Of The Beach And A Camera/ Google Returns To Virginia Breeze

Dawn was about an hour ago and it was not spectacular this morning. Also we are out of here shortly so I can’t go down to the beach and fool around as per usual. Sitting out on the balcony and fooling around with camera settings didn’t produce much either. Although the camera saw the sun long before it was visible to my eyes and yes I was wearing specs.

I leave this morning with a greater appreciation for the healing power of the beach. We were both hyped up and a bit crazy when we got here. And right around Tuesday things just seemed to relax. We stopped playing the correct me if I am wrong or (possibly even) right game. Do you know that game? There are benign varieties like the one we play as well as more hard hitting versions.

I have tried to keep up with my blogging and visit other blogs too. I appreciate very much the comments and encouragement that came with them. There’s one guy who has written a couple of times about a great diet that he is on. I’m not sure if he is spamming or not. If he replies to this post maybe we can decide he is not. But I have to say that the idea of chewing your food many times beyond the point where it is ready to go down the chute is not for me. Maybe it’s great and you feel full for a long time but I am the guy who doesn’t remember to tighten tops on jars after using them. I don’t have the patience for that type of thing. If anyone else finds it helpful please let me know.

If it was not for hunger pain and pain in general I would weigh thirty pounds less. So why not just stop eating when you are no longer hungry? Because I don’t want that uncomfortable feeling to come back for awhile I guess. We are getting into psychological territory here and this post is already long. Maybe I will break it down later along with the history oriented post about the French contribution to US Independence and the Battle of the Capes.

Goog has returned bigger and better than before. So don’t be too upset if it ever deserts you. It can return if the problems are fixed. I was especially appreciative that a nice person from Goog actually emailed me and we had a great conversation back and forth about ten times. All of this started about the middle of June and here we are starting out in August. So six weeks to go down and then up again? That’s not too bad considering the kinds of things that come to mind when it happens. AND the kinds of things you can read about on blogs that have for whatever reason lost touch with the Almighty Algorithm.

So life is good and I hope it is helpful to read about it being good. If you are not feeling well I suggest finding a nice camera and going out and taking some pictures. Look for something that perhaps suggests a more positive outlook than what you may be feeling at the moment.

The camera can be a mechanical device that acts like the dredger I wrote about earlier in Rudee’s Inlet. This beast sucks the sand out of the inlet so ships can go back and forth and then deposits it on the beach where it is needed. Likewise a camera can inhale the beauty of a flower and its happy energy into your brain.

Hey! It’s worth a try. It seems to work for your blogging buddy. And so I continue recording our adventures while lightly touching on many things as a breeze here in Virginia will do on a warm but comfortable day.

  1. I understand completely about the healing power of the camera, when I stress out I usually head for the nearest florist, grab my tripod and camera, a glass of wild turkey and head to my little studio and shoot away ;)

Wonderful writing. Warm. humorous and heartfelt. I just loved it. I lived for years near the sea in Australia and it is one the most potent healers. I just love it and miss it here in the Southwest. But I am going to take my raft out one day soon and paddle around a huge dam. Hope to get a canoe or kayak soon for the river. I LOVE being in, on or near the water. I am glad you got to relax. The amount of stress that many of us are dealing with daily is incomprehensible to me. That is why I must breathe, take in one moment at a time and hike when I can. Look at they sky, the moon, the sunrises and sunsets, take in as much goodness as I can every day.
