Last Day At The Beach/ Virginia Beach/ Dolphin And Sunrise Photo

  1. Oh David did you take this photo? This is AMAZING! I think it is the simplicity and absolute barrenness of the photo that makes it such a RICH photo, the lone black dolphin with only his dorsal and back showing…then all that gray/silver sea and sky….and THEN that pastel pink half sun is absolutely incredible. The photo has only 3 elements the dolphin, the pink sun, and the textured water…and of course the gray sky which acts as a back drop for the three elements. Just wonderful. It’s as if the dolphin and the sun are in communion with each other. Very special photo.

After seeing this I think I need to go to Virginia Beach for a long vacation. It is beautiful there and so peaceful.

this is beautiful!!!… i love the half sun and the lonely dolphin which is probably making its way to its own piece of haven… it’s so dreamy… and a good metaphor for our journey in the sea of life — sometimes,we just have to keep on going even if we have to do part of the journey alone…

by the way, re: your comment in one of my entries: the photos are mine (unless i wrote a note indicating otherwise), so i guess it follows that i’ve been to the places i’ve posted in my blog:) … I couldn’t have taken them unless I was there, right? *winks*… although i know it can be quite confusing as i post them out of order — i use them when i think they appropriate for my entries, or i simply feel like talking about them… so it appears that i’ve been hopping from one place to another or give the impression i’m biolocating or something :) (especially when the places are too far apart)…

in any case, i hope you had a wonderful summer vacation… it’s good to have a break from our daily routine once in a while :)

Thanks lareine and thanks for helping with my confusion. You have a great summer too. I read about a blogger who had a terrible accident recently and so have been counting my blessings every day as I hope and pray for her recovery.

hi david! i would just like to say i’m sorry if i misread your comment… now, i see that you’re wondering if i am in the places i talked about at the time i published the entries… you’re right, i should at least mention the date the photos are taken… it would give a clearer picture (figuratively) of my entries… and besides, the landscape changes with the season and displays (in the case of museums or castles) depends on the theme of the exhibits or scheduled restoration period… thank you for pointing it out… i really appreciate it….

and i hope you’re having a wonderful and safe summer… sorry to hear about the blogger who had an accident… i also hope she’ll have a full recovery as soon as possible… i guess i should not be that cranky even if half of the time it’s raining and cold here (we even had one morning of 43°F in early July) because at least we are safe and sound and we have no big calamities… and what you said is true — we should always be thankful for our daily blessings, big or small :) … you take care!!!
