Color and Light/ Dressing For The Race
We went to Colonial Downs several years ago before I started taking photos. I bet more that day and probably ate more too. And I don’t remember marveling at the beauty of these fine animals. Or appreciating the effort that goes into dressing them with colorful gear that matches their own colors.
Taking photos has helped me to learn to be more creative. But it has also helped me to appreciate more the creative efforts of others.

i know horses are lovely animals, but they kinda scare me (once, a horse followed us to our car and stamped its hoof on the car’s hood when we got inside… and i didn’t do anything to antagonize it!!)… but you’re right, photography hones our artistic “eye”, or at least gives us the opportunity to capture things not only by the way they appear to us, but also how they make us feel… i don’t know if i make sense, but that’s how i see it :)…
Oh oh. That doesn’t sound good. What kind of car were you driving? Or maybe it was trying to find out how many horse power was in the engine.
A mastermind at work the writer fairly is, I do not know when he convinced me. Prime article content and visual allure make it one of the top blog on this sphere. The author knows what he’s commenting about, I can strongly claim it. I cannot help but wonder why such ideas were not made earlier
Horse racing is a beautiful sport, lots of wonderful color and magnificent animals, living in horse country I have always wanted to shoot the Derby and other events. Hopefully someday the moment will present itself and I will give it a try.
You are really doing some nice work with this event David !!
