Thank you both for commenting. I know how awful this thing is on a regular basis but also am thankful I did not have it until I was fifty. There are kids out there who will have it their whole lives.

Hi David,
You recently left a comment on my blog, so I thought I'd hop on over to yours.

I, too, experience (occasional) RLS, although my symptoms don't seem to be as strongly felt as yours. Recently, I took a ten hour plane ride to Holland and part of what made my flight almost unbearable was RLS symptoms.

I find that stretching my calf muscles helps. Exercise helps. Anyway, I like your idea of standing up to work as standing or walking helps me, too.

Keep up the good work on your blog!

Yep, 10 percent DO have it. The REST study - one of the largest studies I've seen - says it's so. The catch is that not all of them have it every doggone day - like me....and it sounds like you. We're the smaller percent that's jumping out the window. The rest? They're having it for a 1/2 hour here or there, or once or twice a week. I used to have it only once or twice a month and could get it in line with a few exercises. Sadly, times have changed. My sister? My mother? They still have it only once or twice a month. I'm not sure why I'm lucky and they aren't!
