Along The River And Through The Woods

I was out soon after dawn this morning and down to the river to see what was going on. The sky was pretty clear and so the sun didn’t have anything to bounce its wonderful rays off of. I spent time trying not to fall down because of the mud. It has been raining a lot lately as you may know and the river is high.

There was lots of mud along the banks and tracks from animals who have been walking in the area. I didn’t find much to photograph and decided to head back home.

But as I was driving slowly along the river a family of geese came into view. And they were out in the road!

Here are some photos. The first one was taken through the front window of my car. I pulled in the other lane and took photos of them through the open side window. And after awhile I glanced up and there was a police car patiently sitting there since I was blocking his side of the road.

Oooops. Sorry!

These geese have won my heart! The elders are so regal, and the little ones …so darned cute. My hubby is working on the landscape around our pond, and he has promised me ducks or geese when the work is done. I had ducks as a child and loved every minute with them. Except for the ducky poo on the carport, of course. That was a wonderful job with the water hose! LOL!
