<description>Hi Elsie. I think both are important but a good photographer can take great photos with a simple camera.

And an unskilled photographer can sometimes take a great photo with a great camera. Luck may play a part.

It is important to have a good camera if only to encourage the student with occasional photos that motivate him or her to continue.</description>

		<description>Your photos are spectacular!

I'd be curious to know which you think is more important to the outcome of a photo--the camera or the photographer? I currently use what is sometimes referred to as a "prosumer" digital, an Olympus Camedia C-5060 WideZoom. I like the photos I get, but I'm sure they could be more detailed, and the exposure could be a lot better (in particular, I get blown out skies a lot and occasional purple fringing). I've pondered upgrading to a true DSLR, but I'm not sure if I'd need to improve as a photographer to really get anything out of it.

Anyway, keep up the good work! These photos are beautiful.

<description>If you used your Flickr links for the photos in your blog then people could follow back through to them to leave you comments. Also, I think the additional linking of things to and fro improves your stats and chances of being higher in google. :)

Personally, I agree with what you say - I definately look harder for beauty and things to take photos of these days and I stop to really look at things.

In the same way you didn't want to 'get out' before...that was probably detrimental to your health. I am sure the addition of extra exercise and fresh air that us photographers do gives us added health benefits.

<description>Wonderful post and image David, I don't think I could describe it any better, being able to take a mundane subject or scene and turning it into something beautiful is a great joy. As is being able to convey a beautiful scene to someone who wasn't able to view it in person, and to be able to put your own artistic tweek to it as well. That is what I love about photography.

Your photography has definitely grown since I have known you David, your work is really well composed and executed and you are establishing your self as a photographer as well as a writer.

Take care.
