Washington DC Capitol / Botanic Gardens
Table of contents for Travels Outside Virginia
Yesterday we walked up to the US Capitol building. I can remember coming here in the late 1970’s before Darren Rowse was old enough to climb up here perhaps and walking up these steps. Now they are blocked off and there is a uniformed guard with a high powered rifle standing at the bottom of them.
How things have changed because of a few people with awful intentions. But the beautiful flowers are still here and it turned out to be a lovely, cool day. We walked down to the Native American Indian Museum. This is a very impressive building that gives one the feeling of being in the southwest desert with those high cliffs overhead.
