Sunday Morning
Table of contents for 5/James River Photos
I was up very early this morning and went downtown to watch the sun come up. It wasn’t much of a show however because there were no clouds! Yesterday would have been marvelous as Billy Crystal would say but then I was in bed yesterday at daybreak. Timing is everything.
So the water level is way up from the rain and most of the birds have taken a hike to someplace where they can more easily find their breakfasts. But I did get a couple of photos. It is really time to give up the notion that I can take photos in the dark without a tripod. I missed many good shots this morning trying to hold my breath while the camera took a second or two to absorb enough light. Resting my hands on a fence or a tree helped a bit but there were still lots of shots that are going straight to the Recycle Bin.
Part of it is that I am kind of nervous down there in the dark and I want to be able to run fast in an emergency. I keep forgetting that I am an old man now and that isn’t going to help much. Besides I could probably USE the tripod in a tense situation to try and hit someone over the head.
Or I would have one more thing to give them that might make them happy. Heck I’ll even give them a lesson if they don’t shoot me.
My favorite television show is The First 48 so you can see how my mind works. That show really blows my mind. There are so many characters out here who will just kill someone in a minute for a couple of dollars. But many folks are murdered on this show because they resist is some way. That’s really the key.
Anyway I’m not going back down there anytime soon. Especially on Sunday morning.
It just makes things too easy when you announce things on the internet.
