Evening Walk At The U

Beth and I were out for our exercise this evening and took a walk over to the University of Richmond. I was hoping there would be a baseball game in progress. And we were in luck so I was able to take some photos. It was pretty cool out there. Probably about 45 degrees and the sun went in soon after we arrived. And it was a close game too. We watched the Richmond team tie things up in the ninth inning as darkness began to descend on us all. Daylight savings should help out tremendously in a few weeks.

Here are some photos. I cannot tell you how much I look forward to this time with my beloved partner. She is the light of my life. Unfortunately she will not let me show you any photos of her. I argued with her about it this evening because I have a wonderful photo of her meeting up with a couple of geese along the path that we follow.

All to no avail. But we have photos of the geese. And the ducks too. They have their domestic arrangements as well and it touches my heart to see them always in pairs as they search for food or just enjoy being birds .

A Poem For The Blog Reader

Welcome to my blog abode

Won’t you please come in?

The Angels are expecting you

They are anxious to begin.

They pray you pass through 2.2

Page views you often read

And follow deeper into woods

Where they may take the lead.

They know you are a busy bee

Who likes to buzz and hunt

For fragrant flowers on the fly

And seldom stays  for lunch.

But they are keen to have a word

And share their love for you

They know someday your buzz will slow

And you may feel too blue.

They say you need to take a breath

And look inside awhile.

Listen to your beating heart

And learn why saints can smile.

Stop and know the world will wait

Around til you return.

Take some time for beauty’s sake

Even learn to meditate!

Because the race will still go on

Long after we are gone.

*****

They say. . .

A spark is in your soul

And you can find it

If you are bold.

Watch it closely

Watch it long

Learn to seek it with the dawn.

Watch it start to sparkle soon

And then grow into a full moon

Before it bursts forth like the sun

Without the heat and lost vision.

Increasing always you will see

The meaning of Eternity.
********

So this is why I say to you

I hope you pass by 2.2

And look within for hints that pass

Of joy

And wonder.

Peace at last.

Backlinks Equal Inlinks Or So They Say

Here is something that is useful and simple to use. Now isn’t that a wonderful combination? So many things in Blog Land could benefit from aspiring to being both useful and simple to use. Too often they get carried away with one or the other but not both.

We can quickly examine our backlinks with this software tool. It is called Yahoo Site Explorer.

Yahoo uses the word “inlink” instead of “backlink” and here is an article about that fact. It also makes some good sense about the whole subject of links.

NewsLink Briefs Take A Look At Who Is In Charge

So Senator Byrd has a bad back and is third in line to be President of the US. He is also ninety years old and has never seen a dollar that he didn’t want to spend on his beloved state of West Virginia. But something about all of this does not comfort me. It doesn’t take very long to count to three. And when I get there I want to find something that makes me happy. The idea that the most powerful country in the history of the known universe is so very close to being run by a ninety year old guy who has to be admitted to the hospital for a bad back is . . . what? What word would you put in here? Frightening? Insane? Pretty funny?

We are one pretzel and one defibrillator with a bad battery away from having a ninety year old man who likes to hallucinate while he is giving three hour speeches about the tree in his back yard as the leader of our country. Should this concern us? No? Good.

Read more today In NewsLink Briefs. . . hard hitting and tight fitting news.
