Virginia Is For Families

Who is going to win the Big Game? It’s almost showtime here in the US as the last two football teams standing go head to head. I have been doing pretty well in the prediction department but I am not feeling it for either team at present. Maybe I need to ask Edgar Cayce. He has always been such a big help.

Edgar! Wake up! Who is going to win the Super Bowl contest?

“I don’t know. Let me go back to sleep.”

Do folks really sleep in heaven Edgar?

“They do if they don’t want to be bothered by certain people back home in Virginia Beach”.

Okay I get your point. But I need help Edgar. Remember the Golden Rule?

“Alright. By the way how are the aliens who are living in your workshop doing?”

They went back to Bluggula. It got too cold for them out there. And the grass stopped growing so they couldn’t make any more crop circles. I asked them if they would take a couple of the presidential candidates with them but they said they have enough problems with their own politicians.

“Smart little guys. And a nice shade of green too. But I must tell you that I do not know who is going to win the Super Bowl. It’s not preordained you know. It’s up in the air as they say! Hahaha. ”

“And something tells me you really don’t care that much. You are more interested in the National Anthem and that cute eighteen year old Jordin Sparks. Really! Isn’t she a bit young for you?”

It’s not like that Edgar. I watched her every week on American Idol. And somewhere before the end I knew she was going to win. I also realized that she is a gorgeous girl and I love the way she sings. I’m her most devoted fan except for maybe her family and a few close friends. That’s all. There are so many different kinds of love in this world Edgar. And some of them are very nice and uncomplicated.

“Nice speech there boy. And I believe you too. You’re just loopy enough to be that way. So I have a plan. I know some pretty important people up here. And I understand Ms. Sparks wants the Giants to win. Her father used to play for them?”

Yes, that’s right. Phillipe Sparks. What’s on your mind Edgar?

“We heard about the donation you want to make to four of her favorite charities. One thousand dollars wasn’t it?”

Sure. If she will go out to dinner with us. Her family too. We know some great restaurants down in Virginia Beach. I’m sure she will be back by here at some point. And it would be fun getting to know her a little bit better.

“You need another attraction. What if I can persuade the Boss to let the Giants win the Super Bowl? Do you think that would do it?”

Can you do that Edgar?! Can you fix it so the Giants will win?

“Don’t doubt it for a second my little friend. Just leave it up to me. This is truly an offer that will be difficult to refuse. Dinner. A donation. And a Giants victory in the Super Bowl! ”

What do we do now Edgar? I am really excited about this.

“What can we do my boy? We must wait. Be patient. And pray.”
