The Snow Queen Helps Me Out

snow The Snow Queen Helps Me Out

It is snowing outside. I know that because I went outside this morning and something cold and wet hit me in the face. It was a snowflake. And it was unlike any other snowflake in the history of snowflakes. Or at least that is what they tell me.

How can you have so much uniqueness in such a little package? I don’t know. Maybe I should ask my wife. She should know and she probably would enjoy giving me the real scoop based on her experience.

We should go outside together. Then she can scoop up some uniqueness and roll it in a ball. Suddenly it is not unique anymore. Maybe she would then enjoy throwing it at my head. Actually there is no “maybe” about it based on past experiences.

I caught a big wet one in the side of the face a couple of years ago. I wasn’t looking in the right direction apparently. Maybe I was looking for the Snow Queen. Doesn’t she like to get out in her sleigh when it snows? I saw her in a movie sometime in the past few years but I can’t remember which one.

Anyway, my wife somehow managed to catch me pretty good that day and then I had to chase her around the back yard. The dogs thought this was great fun. But they are always on her side because she feeds them and doesn’t act as referee when they get into fights with each other. So I never did catch her if I remember correctly.

And what would I have done with her if I caught her anyway? Nothing. Maybe give her a kiss because that’s the impulse I have whenever she is within range. And that would have sent the wrong message.

Or maybe the right message depending on who is sending it. Her message probably went something like this: “Loosen up, dude! Enjoy the snow. Stop ruminating for five minutes. Look at this wonderful stuff falling from the sky. And every single one of the little guys is unique. HERE. LOOK AT THIS.

WAP!!!

She knows how to get her point across. I have to give her credit for that.
