Here’s something different. Do you like it? I pretty much got down on the ground to take it. It represents something to me. But I’m not sure what it is and it is time to go to dinner.

Oh well. Maybe later.

Later is here and I am no further along with this photo. It may just be some grass with a little snow under a bridge. Zachary met me here and we walked around the island. Maybe that is its significance. It represents a family reunion. But that doesn’t mean anything to anyone else. So it’s not art in my mind based on just that fact.

Yes I use a photo editor. Here is the same shot with the saturation dialed back. And I used PSP instead of Picasa2. I let it make the final decision. Notice any difference? It’s pretty obvious when you look at them side by side.

I generally like shots taken from different angles. Yours feels a little over saturated though. Do you edit them?

You have such a good eye Helena. You have really helped my photo taking with your comments. It is difficult figuring out the exact horizon sometimes when I straighten photos. And the saturation is difficult sometimes. It is easier of course to turn this decision over to the editor.

I pay more attention to it based on your comments. Thanks.

That definately look more natural. :) I find using the ‘curves’ function in PSP is quite a nice tool to slightly enhance photos.

I will have to experiment with the curves function. If it is on PSP 7.

It is - PSP7 is what I have too. :) Go to ‘Layers’ -> ‘New adjustment layer’ -> Curves. You then get up a window where effectively what you can do is make the ‘dark’ parts of the photos ‘darker’ or ‘lighter’ and the ‘light’ parts ‘darker’ or ‘lighter’. I found the best way to start was to click on where the red line meets the grid to make a ‘marker’ appear. And then experiment by dragging the marker up or down.

Cool. I see that upper/left makes everything go white and lower/right is very dark. So upper/right would be no change.

    Cool.

Nice angle but the color of the sky looks off to me.

I recently bought a polarizer and I’m going to start messing around with it outside. So this is just the beginning of strange loooking skies!! hhahhaa

I tried the polarizer yesterday evening and was not impressed with what it did to the sky. Maybe I am not using it right. The UV filter did a better job the other day. I see what you mean about the sky however and appreciate your professional eye very much indeed. It looks turquoise in my desk monitor.

    The turquoise sky of Richmond.
