Old Tree In The City
Table of contents for Pictures of Richmond City
Probably many photographers become tired of taking photos of sunrises. But we are far from that point. When I say “We” I mean “Me and my camera”. Just like when the Pope says “We” he means him and God. I guess.

That’s right. I have reached the point where my camera is a companion. It has feelings too. For instance, it doesn’t like my hot breath early in the morning when its cold outside. This clouds its disposition. And then we have to talk about it and work things out.
Hopefully it will never become ill and need to go to the camera hospital. I would miss it terribly.

Downtown there is this huge old tree in the middle of everything. It is a beautiful tree.

And I thought it could be the focus for a photo while the river and the sky are in the background.
I really like the way branches become smaller and smaller until they just reach out like a thousand microscopic fingers and merge with the sky. Especially when there is a starkness about it. I would use the S word here except that I have trouble spelling it and I’m tired. I have been up since five working on my blog and now it is eleven. I need some breakfast and Beth won’t make it for me. She says I am spoiled and she is right. So I have to go make some grits and eggs. Or I could slip out and let the thoroughly competent cook at the Waffle House do it.
Great idea.
