Virginia Is For Families

I’m not sure what I did wrong but Susan Flemming is on day 10 and I am on day 11. The only thing I know for sure is that today is Friday and I am kind of partying tonight. Maybe that is not such a great time to be dialing into the grateful stuff but some of the best people I have ever known were most grateful when they were in the middle of a great party.

I’m sorry but I am not a very good person to have as a role model in the spiritual sense. I don’t go to church. I don’t pray very much. I take medication to avoid depression. And I sometimes have lustful thoughts as I am sure you recognized from our inaugural post in the trivia category.

Susan is probably deleting her links to here at this very moment and I wouldn’t blame her. When I say that my brain is a “bag of tricks” I’m not fabricating the truth. And I try to keep an eye on it. But tonight it is out of its cage and we are having a little party.

What am I grateful for tonight. Well. To be truthful I am grateful for women. Without them the world would be an even more sorry place. And I am especially grateful for the fact that when we (men) start to grow up they are there for us. Because we are looking around and don’t have the faintest idea about what we are supposed to do. All we know is what we want to do.

And somehow they manage to take all of that mess and make sense out of it. Also they are beautiful. They have bodies that help us through the night and faces that stir our admiration.
Hopefully when we get to the 12th day of Christmas I will be back in a finer state of mind and able to say something fitting for a finale. We shall see.
