To My Longtime Reader

As we approach the New Year and gird ourselves for the many miles of walking we will be doing shortly I would just like to say how much I appreciate you coming back here and following the exploits of one aging hipster. I realize part of your motivation may be curiosity over the state of my mental health. Will I go over the edge today? I understand these thoughts and have actually thought a few of them myself.

Will my wife tire of my fascination with Jordin Sparks and throw me out the front door? Will I end up chasing her tour bus across the world? No. None of these things are going to happen. But we can still have a good time as we wait for Jordin to come to Virginia someday and, hopefully, go out to dinner with Beth and I. You really want to be here for the photos after that happens!

So stick around. The best is yet to come. Google tells me I actually have several hundred readers who have been here 200 times or more. Although only a handful have actually had the courage to talk to me. I understand. I would not want to talk to me either except for the fact that I am stuck here.

So have a wonderful New Year. Please be safe on the highway. Actually it is probably those back roads that are the real danger. So slow down and let the person in back of you simmer a little bit. They really are not in that much of a hurry. Turn the rearview mirror up and the side view mirror out and just pretend you are alone with your beloved companion riding shotgun.

Never forget you are heading towards a better day. Onward and Upward as CS Lewis used to say. Let’s see what wondrous things we can find in the next twelve months.

Hi David - I am just doing a quick cruise on my blog friends, and wanted to peek in here and say Hi to you.

We are still playing the baby waiting game, although the Doctor did say today it could be anytime.

Things will be back to normal — or as normal as they can be soon, and I should have more time for visiting, so make sure you have that coffee on for me :-)

If I don’t have the chance in a day or so, Happy New Year to you and Beth!
