Last night we went for our annual horse and carriage ride here in Richmond. The weather was cool and comfortable. The people and horses amiable. It was a lovely evening.

It was also a big improvement from earlier in the day when all the bridges in town froze over with a very thin but deadly layer of ice. I have a CB radio and it was crazy for awhile with cars sliding into each other in a constant chant of calls. So many Christmas plans messed up in a moment.

So we were enjoying an earlier age which also had these types of problems. Twenty five pounds of sleigh bells announced that a horse and carriage was coming around the corner. Otherwise the approach would be very quiet. Hello! Times have not really changed that much.

Later in the evening we found our way to the yule log and some marshmallow treats. I tried cooking some of the little guys and they were pretty good. Then Beth showed me how to do it. Her marshmallows weighed a lot less than mine when they were done. And somehow the color was different too.

Please don’t forget to help Tiny Tim in his race with John Chow! He’s falling behind.

Nice job on the fire picture David… I find fire hard to capture.

Thanks. I have the shutter speed up where it is when taking sports photos. And it seems to work alright.
