Here’s a post in Tech Crunch that talks about a new startup Mixx. Mixx will take Digg’s lunch one of these days.

mixxlogo Tech Crunch/ Mixx Will Take Diggs LunchNew startup Mixxt Tech Crunch/ Mixx Will Take Diggs Lunch, which went in to private beta just two months ago, may be finding itself with the right product at the right time. Digg users, including top contributors, are showing an increasing amount of frustration with the Digg community, and many are leaving. Conspiracy theories that Digg auto buries stories with certain topics or linking to certain sites only compounds the problem.

Some users eventually go to Redditt Tech Crunch/ Mixx Will Take Diggs Lunch, Propellert Tech Crunch/ Mixx Will Take Diggs Lunch or any of a number of other Digg-like sites. But a disproportionate amount of them seem to be heading to Mixx, and writing about their choice.

SEOSCt Tech Crunch/ Mixx Will Take Diggs Lunch gives Mixx a thumbs up and says “I have already had quite a lot of success with getting my submissions voted on, this may be partly due to the fact that many of my digg friends have joined the site.”

I have never had any use for Digg. The folks who seemed to live there and make such clever comments all the time were often pretty mean. They reminded me of the story about trolls living under the bridge. So I didn’t want to go walking by and pretty much forgot about it after a couple of efforts.

It seems like a lot of people are having the same sorts of experiences and now there is an alternative. And for someone walking in off the street that is interesting. The best part?

No trolls under the bridge.

Update: Here’s a guy who is even more upset with Digg than I am. I’m not really upset with them. I’m indifferent. Which is worse? Anyway, this guy seems to want Digg flattened before six am tomorrow. Or so it seems. I like his style.
