- Dr. Davidlind’s Holiday Shopping
First of all I think we should all decide that this year we are not going to wait until December 24th to do our Christmas Shopping. Men? Are you listening? Because I am not talking to the women. We should only ask them to perhaps STOP shopping on December 24th. Because they are for the most part just getting warmed up by then. And the good sales start when? That’s right. So they MUST keep going. It’s like the long distance runner who has made it through most of the race. You cannot drop now.
You must keep going. So let us leave that futility alone for a moment and concentrate on what we can do something about. As they say, God grant me the serenity……yadayadayada……know the difference. So here is the plan. Starting this weekend we need to buy approximately 18 percent of the presents we will need on the big day. And we do this for six weeks in a row. That will give us a total of 108 percent of the presents we need by Christmas. And we may even have a weekend or two without needing to do anything. Pretty good?
Another term we need to know. Amazon.com. That’s right. When you do your shopping this is the place to go. Right here. In other words you don’t have to get out of your seat. Go directly from the end of the game you are playing to Amazon.com and then back again so you can finish up with creating a new galaxy. Or whatever you were doing.
See how simple it is? The only one who has to work really hard is the UPS man or woman. And that’s alright because they are making overtime. It does require a little discipline on your part. And you are going to need some ideas when you get to the website. Have everyone write down what they want on a piece of paper and give it to you right now.
We won’t worry about wrapping now. Wrapping is a whole other pay grade and something that is too much to consider with shopping.
And whatever you do please do not be distracted by other websites. For instance there is the Big O. That one is not what you want. It stands for Overstock. com in case you were wondering. That one is meant for women who get really excited about shopping. And you don’t want to be excited. You want to be very methodical or you will spend too much money.
Also please remember to stay out of the electronics section of the Amazon website. No video games either. Unless you have a child who put this down on the list. And if this is the case you must get in and get out quickly. Don’t hang around after you order Danny’s little Nintendo deal. It could cost you big time.
Stay cool. Stay fresh. And stay away from trouble. You are going to enjoy this holiday season. And on December 24th you are going to relax.
Until it’s time to wrap all the nice presents you have bought. We will talk about wrapping later.
