Dad/ Love Is Sometimes Sad Poems
Table of contents for 3/Poetry
Sometimes our words fly round like a sparrow
In effortless flight with more points than an arrow.
But sometimes we dig and there’s none to be found
Perhaps laid too deep in this rock laden ground.
With love and unease bound together so well
Words are unable to weave their sweet spell.
And left with no hope to discover within
Unresolved feelings for beloved kin.
Long folded and packed all too neatly away
We leave hard tasks for another day.
When armed with a purpose and fervent desire
We will tear away ease until reaching the fire.
And tell the church guests to your love we aspired
Not knowing it already had been acquired.
