Blog Growth / StumbleUpon Part Deux

Or part d’ oh! for some of us. This is becoming very interesting. We have a recommendation here to go ahead and stumble our own stuff. The only caveat is to make sure and balance it out with stumbles for other bloggers. This is different. And it sounds fine. But will it really work? There is a discussion here about algorithms. Anybody who knows how SU uses those to weed out spammers must have a clear picture about what is going on here.

I’m excited about finding out where all this leads.

In fact, I am so excited I am going to attempt a trackback. If we are going to go down this road towards building a better blog we might as well go all the way. So the article everyone should read is here:

http://www.arsenalmarketing.com/

You do the link first and now the trackback. We will see how that works. Hopefully we will get some positive feedback.

Last night somebody stumbled the hell out of my posts and I had over four hundred visits in the first two hours of the wordpress day. The happy part was that the average length of each visit was ten minutes. That’s very encouraging. No flowers got trampled. I wish there had been some comments. But you can’t have everything.

Hopefully this series will help all of us understand how we can have more.

I will figure this out, it sounds easy but now my stumble bar won’t work, it’s driving me nuts. I must say David the article you have highlighted is the best about stumble I have seen yet! thanks for posting it.

Thanks, Bernie. I hesitate to say it but maybe they turned off your stumbles. Last time I checked you were up around 450 of them. That’s a lot wouldn’t you say?

Okay what does that mean if you stumble too much they shut you down, I don’t get it.
Why can’t I figure this out.

Read what the guy says in today’s post about it. He says they will temporarily shut off anybody who is excessive. I thought he was talking about stumbling yourself but maybe it applies to stumbling your neighbors too.

I told him what happened to you. Maybe he will address your issue.

Are you sure the post you tried to stumble hadn’t already been stumbled. The thumbs up won’t work if the post has already been hit.
