One of my favorite places on the web is Arsenal Marketing and tomorrow he is starting an in depth report on StumbleUpon that will perhaps clarify some of the issues we have been discussing. Maybe we can all read this and then figure out what to do in the future. My stats go up and down like an EKG machine every time someone stumbles one of my posts. It’s fun to watch but what exactly is being accomplished? Maybe we can find some answers here.

  1. Stumbleupon is nuts David, I swear I still don’t get it, the other night I got over a thousand hits in about an hour. I don’t understand how it works, are all those hits really looking at your blog?

    David,

I hope you enjoyed my series on StumbleUpon. I just wanted to mention a coule of other tricks that have worked pretty well. I have pinged my stumbleupon page. You only want to do this when you add new information. Don’t do it on a daily basis but definitely do it at least a couple times a week.

Here’s one that I haven’ tried as of yet, but it will help you in getting a better rank in technorait as well as more google juice in the search engiens. THat is go to technorati and claim your stubmble upon page.

The other tip which I also mentioned in my respone to your comment is to start a group where you actually exchange votes. You can create a group for instance using yahoo. Make it so that you only vote on two articles a week. You then send your articles to the yahoo email and all the group memebrs will then know that a new post has been stumbled and it’s time to vote. Remember that you don’t want ot be voting in a coulple of seconds because of stumblUpons algorithm.

I hope that this helps you and your readers. If you do form some kind of group, I would definitley like to be invited. Talk to you soon!

Thanks Joe. We are all very appreciative of your efforts in these reports. We should do all these things and find out exactly where SU leads. I am ready. Hopefully there are some others around here who would like to try your methods too. And we will definitely include you in it.
