Blog Rush Bonanza
There are a lot of reviews out there this week like this one about Blog Rush. And, according to what I have read, Blog Rush is a lot like multilevel marketing. I couldn’t tell you what it is like based on my own observations. Because my insights into these sorts of things run into a brick wall at around the second level. I do have some thoughts about MLM however. And those are that it is never as good as it sounds up front. Think about it. Exponential growth doesn’t really happen in nature for very long. It does happen. But it is so intense that it must burn itself out before too long. Bacteria grow exponentially and eventually they fizzle out. Our survival on this planet is based on this fact. The Ebola virus would have killed us all a long time ago if its victims list grew exponentially.
A long time ago scientists worried that setting off a nuclear device in the atmosphere would lead to an exponentially advancing chain reaction. They worried about blowing up the planet with one bomb. But, hey, risks must be taken in order to advance science. And they knew someone else would try it if we didn’t anyway. So we tried it and there was a chain reaction. And then what happened? Things settled down. And then it was over.
There are some successful MLM businesses out there. Many don’t even want to be identified as being MLM. But the thing is that they have learned to slow things down. Blog Rush is off to a great start. And I wish them well. Their widget sits right here on this blog and it’s fun to go to the different places it offers to take us.
But they already have been surprised in the first week and it took several days for my application to be processed. Maybe I’m wrong about all of this. It’s just my opinion based on years of watching things happen. I would like it to do well.
It will be fun to watch in any case.

Hey David,
I like the blog. I am also pretty suspicious about things that sound too good to be true. I also do not like MLM and avoid it like the plague.
BlogRush, however, is simply a free way to advertise your blog to other people. What the BlogRush company gets from this is that you also have to advertise other people’s blog on your site. So, unlike MLM where you get nothing out of it in most cases there is an immediate reward. In a couple of days my blog traffic has more than doubled (which isn’t a whole lot yet but better than it was). Also, if anyone signs up as a result of your link from BlogRush you get more views of the link to your blog. It is still free to you.
The way BlogRush makes money is that a small amount of the blog listings you will see will be paid advertising. This makes sense as well. To me it is cleaner and easier to stomach than pop ups or other things that advertisers will do. Another good thing about BlogRush is that the links so far have been relevant to what my blog is about. No advertisements for inappropriate stuff or junk that I get sometimes with Google Ads.
Anyway, I know I sound like a MLM person. Maybe I could come over to your house tonight and introduce you to a great new program I have… Just kidding. Anyway, just wanted you to know what I think about it.
What you describe sounds attractive and I hope it goes like that. I have signed up also and I haven’t noticed a big increase in traffic. Maybe four or five readers per day according to my stats have come from the Blog Rush advertisement. It certainly would be nice if it helped filter out the crud. I don’t really understand all the levels but someone else said it was MLM. We will see.
We will see is probably pretty good analysis. Who knows what it will do.
I found your blog through BlogRush so I am glad for that!
I’m glad too, Matt. I hope you will come back. I enjoyed your visit.
