Where’s The Comment?

houseonlake Wheres The Comment?

Have you ever noticed that many times when someone who is a successful blogger stops by your blog they don’t leave a comment? They just look around and leave. But then they will write a post suggesting that it’s a good idea to leave a comment when you visit.

As Andy Rooney would say, “What’s that all about?”

Maybe it’s just me but it doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence in what I’m trying to do when this happens. It’s bad enough when you pay a visit to a popular blogger, leave a comment and never hear a thing about it. I always say they are very busy and who am I after all?

But they do often give advise about that, too. And I respond to every comment here unless I miss one by mistake. Because that’s what they suggest I do.

Blogging can be a confusing way to not make a living.

Hey, I just walked in the door! And here I am. If I did it any faster my wife would have to jump out of the way.

Thanks Floyd. Would you like a job? LOL. Just kidding. And we should make it clear I did not pay you to say that and you are not a member of my family.
Beth and I enjoy Florida. The photo on a recent post of two children playing under a pier was taken near Venice.

Did you ever think that some of us introverts are so introverted that we don’t know what to say? That maybe we are scared someone might criticize us? It is easy to float through the internet without causing so much as a ripple. That is some of the attraction for me. But I get your point, so I am trying to help you out. Good luck! You have a very nice and relaxing spot.

It probably is good to use the internet to practice more outgoing behavior. Maybe that would be helpful for you?

You are so right about the comments! besides having to fiddle with code for the latest and greatest plugin, it’s probably the hardest thing to do, get comments. At one point I even offered a free blog and training for comments. I received about 700 visitors and I only got 2 comments from the same person and guess what? The person was a developer, so she didn’t need my free blog and training.

I really like your writing style and content. I usually don’t like blogs that have a variety of topics, so I almost just clocked off. Your content and humor spark my interest. Keep up the good work and I want to congratulate you on having such a good blog and NOT making a living!

    Best of Luck!

Hey, now we are cooking! Andy Rooney says, “Did you ever just get a comment on your blog that made up for the nine hundred and ninety nine nice readers who were too shy to put down a few words??”

Andy, that would be THIS comment. Thanks, Joe.

Good question. I will look into it. If I can figure out how to do it I will.
