    Aw, is that a picture of Alex? Who is Alex? I haven’t seen that. Is it the parrot that was supposed to have belonged to Winston Churchill and is something like 70 years old? Just wondering…

    No, I think Alex was a lot younger than that. It was surprising that he died. Lots has been written about him. He talked a lot.

    i seen a video of alex the talking parrot on the you tube website and found it to be very stressful and appalling to watch. you can clearly see the bird has plucked out a lot of his feathers. african greys are known to do this if they are stressed. they are quite shy by nature. his trainer was asking him to do tricks and he kept saying “go back”, she replied by saying no. if the bird could understand what he was saying he clearly did not want to take part but his trainer still persisted on making him do tricks. take a look at the video on you tube and see the state of his feathers and wings.
