University Of Virginia Football

I don’t think we will be able to get up close and personal this year when we go up to UVa for a football game. Zachary was our ticket into the game and down on to the field two years ago. But it will still be fun. Virginia football teams seem to be struggling in general this year. Virginia Tech has its problems. But somehow they don’t seem very important when you remember the massacre of students and teachers that happened there recently.

It’s one of those things that even now is so unbelievable. And has anything really changed in terms of preventing another tragedy? I would suggest every door have a deadbolt lock on the inside and every teachers desk have a locked drawer full of pepper spray and a stun grenade. I know firearms are out of the question. But there ought to be tools available to meet the next emergency of this nature.

But how did I get off on this subject? Well we are in the record books now here in Virginia when it comes to this type of awful event. It’s difficult not to start writing about it. But this blog is supposed to be about happy stuff. And I can think of one happy outcome right now. Tech wanted Zach to come be on the team. He’s an excellent long snapper and they wanted him for that. So he could have been at the school when this thing happened. But he decided not to play football.

We have some photos of the University of Virginia and their football team from two years ago.
