My leg is doing much better this morning and it looks like a pretty nice day outside. Zachary has said he will meet me somewhere so I can take some shots of him. He has tossed around the idea of doing some modeling. He’s fairly handsome and athletic too. 6′ 4″ and 235 pounds. He had several offers for full scholarships to play football when he graduated from high school in 06. But he got fed up with it all one day and decided football was not for him.
His high school football coach was not having a lot of success managing the football team. Hopefully this will be his last season. One more 3-7 record ought to do it if anyone at Zachary’s old school has any sense.
Since he graduated Zachary has worked at Virginia Beach selling paintings out of his car to businesses. He was a bouncer in a fairly nice bar also in Virginia Beach. I should probably do a post about the things he told me happened to him there. Then he returned to Richmond and worked at a plant and tree store for awhile. It was called The Great Big Greenhouse. Some of the football coaches at different colleges were still after him at this point but he avoided the temptation to return to the football fold. Eventually he decided to go to Virginia Commonwealth University where he started last January and has done very well just missing the Dean’s List by a fraction of a point. He also worked at the VCU housing office for awhile before applying for and being accepted in the Americorps program. Eventually he hopes to be accepted into the Peace Corps.
So that pretty much brings us up to date on Zachary. He is a charming young man and is enjoying the college life I would say. The HBO people came to town awhile back and filmed a miniseries about John Adams. Zach was part of that as an extra and actually got to know the stars, Paul Giamatti and David Morse. They apparently liked his outgoing manner since he had lunch with them on one occasion. Here is a trailer for Mr. Giamatti’s latest movie. David Morse played the father role in the movie Contact among many other things. He has been on the television program, House, recently. Here’s a link to John Adams.

And here is the link to Paul Giamatti’s latest movie. He really was nice to Zachary and Zach says he has a stunning girlfriend. He does smoke a lot of cigarettes however and needs to cut that out if he wants to have a happy life down the road. Maybe the nervous characters he sometimes plays are partially induced by a need for the weed. Tobacco weed for sure. You can do it Paul! You don’t need cigarettes to appear neurotic. Believe me, I know.
