Before I hit the rack I would like to share with you one of the wonderful benefits of combining a photo and a personal blog. Maybe I’m wrong because I just started two months ago but that’s what I THINK I’m doing here. Here it is. When you take a vacation you write about it. You take pictures. Just like we did last week up on Cape Cod. Okay, now it’s a week later but it could be six months later and you go back and read about your vacation. You look at the pictures. And it all comes back so vividly. It’s not just like looking at pictures of the vacation. Because you have invested so much more in the creation of it.
We pour our thoughts into a blog. And we seal the deal with a picture. It could be a picture of a beach you loved. It could be a picture of a structure that took your fancy. Or your lovely partner. Or a bird. And then it’s there forever. A very happy moment that you can relive whenever you want to do it.
How important are our memories? I know we are supposed to live in the present. That mantra has been heard since the sixties and it’s still going strong. My present moment sometimes consists of looking at pictures and reading what I thought last month. Memories are probably more important than we appreciate most of the time. Especially vivid ones.
It feels great to have something to share but also to keep close to the heart. I would encourage all who are interested to try it.
