Nikon D-70
Table of contents for 2/Family Photos

One of the most fun things about photo blogging is having a nice camera that will take good pictures without a lot of help from the person operating it. Catherine Jamieson in her book about photo blogging suggests putting some information about the camera you use in your blog and tagging it. Because many people put the name of their camera in the search function. (This is just one more thing she suggests that I would not have considered.)
The camera itself costs about as much as a fairly decent laptop or about a thousand dollars. Add a few lenses and a few other things and it is easy to double that price. That’s a lot of money but it is also an investment in a pleasurable hobby and photos that will last a lifetime.
I have not yet even scratched the surface in terms of what a good SRL camera like this one can do. I should take a course at the local museum or community college. Because I don’t know. It’s like learning to navigate your computer. Only the results are more fun.
Here’s a picture of a blogger having his picture taken by his wife with a Nikon D-70. She never used it before today. But all you have to do in this mode is point, press the button to focus and shoot. You won’t even break the camera if you take a pic of something like this. It’s pretty sturdy.
