Flying to Boston

12c11ea5 Flying to Boston

It’s up, up and away this morning as we see if Jet Blue is actually any different from the others. I am not an avid flyer especially when Beth tells me a week ago about a dream she had. You guessed it. Airplane parts everywhere. If you hear anything today on the news please be advised that further posts at David’s Journal will probably not be in your future. However, you will have all the past posts until……when? Wordpress.com is free. Have I achieved a small degree of immortality already?

I am going to take Ron Dubin’s advice and take a wide angle lens to Boston. Since I first started trying to learn about photography I have gravitated to the long range lens and the shots that reveal detail in the beautiful subjects nature gives us. But now we will be in the city for awhile and things will be different. It will be difficult because I have trained my eye to look for details. Taking a picture of a group of people on a sidewalk or the side of a building will test me in other ways. I can look for patterns perhaps. The photo I took last week in the refuge area called Sanctuary was really an attempt to move in that direction.

I am not really comfortable taking pictures of people with a high powered lens in the middle of a city anyway. They might feel badly about it and then I would also. Note to self…find article about etiquette of taking pictures in public places that are not the beach.

Well, it’s time to go. Bye-bye.
