Adversity Looks Like This

If I were to pick an animal to symbolize adversity it would be this one. I can look at him and immediately recall how it felt to be alive on those days when a big problem arrived. One of those times was about six years ago when I first started experiencing symptoms of RLS. Having Restless Legs Syndrome means never having the ability to relax without feeling an overwhelming need to thrash about. Your body simply goes haywire. It’s far worse than simply experiencing a restless feeling and the name does not describe it adequately.

There is no medication that simply solves the problems presented by RLS. But there are better medications these days. You may have seen some of them advertised on television recently. For awhile I thought this four legged monster was going to have the best of me. But things have not turned out that way. And part of my message in this blog is for my friends who are struggling with this wretched disorder. Do not give up the struggle. Get up every day in whatever state you are in and try to work something out that will give you relief. Your best days are still ahead.
